Welcome To ASTMUN 2021-2022
About AstMUN

Welcome fellow delegates,
We are happy to bring forth our seventh annual ASTMUN conference, which will be held completely online. This year our theme is sustainable development. The pandemic highlighted major differences between developed and developing countries. Vaccines were rolled out quickly and efficiently in developed states, whilst developing countries lacked the necessary funds to roll out vaccines. As a result, many LEDC’s have begun to form a blueprint for future economic development through climate neutrality and appropriate funding from the IMF to catch up to the developed world.
ASTMUN is proud to host a conference where an abundance of relevant issues will be discussed regarding sustainable development through countless innovations.
In ASTMUN 2022 our delegates will explore issues and solutions regarding sustainable development. In the General Assembly, delegates will discuss innovations in medicine, leading a world post-Covid-19, and combating climate change through diversifying the energy sector and reducing pollution. The Security Council will explore the ongoing tensions that may threaten global security, especially state-sponsored terrorism, and Civil Wars. The IMF Committee will focus on how developed states could provide humanitarian relief to developing states, increasing education standards, fighting poverty, and acquiring the necessary funds to stand up to climate change.
